Hi friends,
I’m Sten, and my real name is Nghia Le. Sten was a lovely nickname that my friends call me when I first played an online game in 2005. Starting from that, I just got myself “Sten Le” for the name of my online activities (blog, forum, facebook..etc..). So you can call me either Sten or Nghia.
I first learned to play organ and piano at a music school when I was 8, then till 12 or 13, I switched to learn guitar from a neighbor of mine. He was kind and patient enough to teach me everyday, and every note in every song he knows (for free, yeah). But later I lost contact with him because he moved to another location. Since then, I taught myself guitar at home for about 2 years.
When I went to high school, I was so stressed and busy with school life that I had to suspend my guitar learning.
At 18, I fell in love with violin, so I decided to take a lesson. In 3 years, I had been taught by 4 teachers due to many reasons. One of them recommended me to play in a restaurant.
Currently, I’m working in IT field, but I also play violin in restaurants for extra income. Still, I’d love to play guitar at home, and sometimes to take it to my trips, there I can just sit on a camp and play for my friends or family.
My Project: Sten Fingerstyle
So as I’m learning fingerstyle guitar, I’ve been thinking of capturing all pieces of music that I’ve learned from my master, and recording them so that I can review myself to see how much progress I’ve made so far.
Later I found that it would be a great idea if I share my videos and tabs (although I’m not good at all), so those who have the same interests with me would be easy to learn some favourite songs they want. With those ideas, I finally decide to start a Youtube channel, and a website (this one) as part of my project.
My project will grow as the number of my videos and tabs. Beside my own practices, your comments and supports will a great help for me 🙂
